ISA International Tree Climbing Championship
The International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC), provides a competitive yet educational opportunity for working arborists from around the globe to demonstrate and exchange new climbing techniques, equipment, and best practices. The event also strengthens connections between ISA chapters, Associate Organizations, and members, while offering positive public exposure for the arboriculture profession throughout the region. Competitors will take on events such as Aerial Rescue, Work Climb, and Ascent, culminating in the Masters’ Challenge, where champions advance to the following years International Tree Climbing Championship. Alongside the competition, the Arbor Fair welcomes the public with family-friendly activities and exhibitor displays, showcasing the skill, passion, and community that define the profession. High Tunnel Field Day @ Happy Hens Homestead
Join us for a walk-and-talk tour at Happy Hens Homestead with Community Farm Alliance and the Kentucky Horticulture Council on Wednesday, June 24th from 9:00am -12:00pm EST for a free High Tunnel Crop Planning Field Day!
We'll learn how the farmers at Happy Hens Homestead have used crop planning to fine-tune production for their Spring CSA and maintain sufficient production throughout the summertime farmers market season. We'll also hear how Happy Hens uses value added products to expand their offerings and reduce the amount of unharvested and unsaleable produce.
We'll also hear from some subject area experts and from the Happy Hens farmers themselves as they give us a tour of their farm. Bring your boots, a foldable chair if you need a rest, your notebook, and most importantly, your questions!
